A Note to PR Professionals

If you’ve actually read this site you know by now that endorsements, reviews and giveaways rarely make it into the mix. There is a reason for this and, if you read on, I will tell you exactly what that reason is; thus exponentially increasing the chances your email will be read should you choose to contact me (and you put the advice I am about to give you to good use, of course.)

That reason: I am incredibly selective.

I will give consideration to requests that:

  • Arrive in emails accurately addressed. My name is not “Blogger”, “Editor” or “To Whom it May Concern”.
  • Offer a service or product that meets a specific need of myself or my readers. If you haven’t read any of my work you probably don’t know what my needs are. My Bio is an excellent place to start.
  • Are not in direct conflict with my goals, mission or ethics. I write about sustainable agriculture, women’s issues and social change. If you’re representing Tyson Foods, Monsanto or Dr. Laura’s newest book I am probably not the writer for your cause.

Please keep in mind that the sheer number of emails I receive daily prevents me from responding to every inquiry. Following the above guidelines exponentially increases the chances of me responding to your email but does not guarantee it. I reserve the right to choose not to work with any PR agency, corporate brand or political entity for any reason, at any time. I look forward to hearing from you!
