It’s NaBloPoMo

by Diana on September 5, 2009

Every year I forget — don’t find out, am out of the loop, living under a rock; you decide — that NaBloPoMo even exists. And then sometime around the end of the month I run across the mention of it and I am both pissed off and a little bit relieved that I missed it.

I mean, really, you can’t start NaBloPoMo on the 25th of the month. That would be more like NaBloPoWe and even then, not even a We (for those not on the up-and-up that is a week.)

Luckily (or not) for me, I ran across a post about NaBloPoMo much, much sooner this year. Since it’s only the fifth and since I did post yesterday — even if only by accident — I feel justified in starting now. It is an exercise in encouraging me to blog daily, after all. And from the looks of things around here lately that can’t be a bad thing.

The theme for September — oh yeah, I forgot to mention apparently over at the NING people do this year-round and there are THEMES! — is beauty. I can’t say as though anything here will be beautiful. As a matter of fact, it may be the exact opposite of beautiful. Nonetheless, there is a theme (that I will most likely NOT be participating in.)

What does this mean for you? Absolutely nothing. Except perhaps for the fact that there is going to be a lot of incredibly unintelligible and mind-bogglingly boring bullshit posted herein for the next twenty-five days. Enjoy!

And yes, this is in fact a cop-out of a post.

What? I thought NaBloPoMo was in November? Same month as NaNoWriMo. Did they change it or are you just creating your own NaBloPoMo? I’m always getting the emails from them about the monthly theme but I’m never organized enough to do it.

I am so not the person to ask — remember I usually find out AFTER the fact. I could totally be making this up. But if I am we’re blaming Janet (Izzymom.com) because SHE is the one who posted it first. Just sayin’ :p

I’m trying this daily blogging too, and it is one week — and I am already exhausted!
