I try to keep it under wraps, but I’m a little bit Type A. A little bit crazy, as a good friend likes to call it. Certain times of year bring out more of my Type-A-ish-ness than others. A little bit more of my crazy. Certain times like now.
I am so bad about some things that I have, in the past, instituted mandatory reverse deadlines of sorts. I am not allowed to address back-to-school related events, items of concern and/or planning endeavors until August 1, the rest of the fall/holiday season until September 1. Normally these are attainable goals. There is a little struggle on the list making. I love lists! But all in all, it’s not terribly difficult to abide by my own very generous rules.
This year has not been so easy. It has been a cool summer overall. It’s felt much more like September than July outside and that makes things very, very difficult for me. I love autumn. I don’t like the winter that comes after it, but I love autumn itself. I love the crisp breezy air. I love apples. And carmel. And embracing my inner Type-A Crazy.
I love it, but it’s only July and there is an entire grocery sack full of school supplies in my diningroom. Crisp, fresh, white sheets of paper. Rich, amber #2 pencils. Adorable mini-packs of tissues for backpacks. Glue sticks!
There is also a tablet half-full with preparation lists and notes for the fall season, the holidays and beyond on my desk. The Type-A Crazy is winning.
I blame the weather. And in order to have a more logical scapegoat, the business of getting back to taking classes this semester. You know, because that will make me a very busy girl. And one must be prepared. Preparedness will reduce the stress of being very busy, no?
Just be warned, there may be much more crazy to come. In the meantime, how about an absolutel adorable red lunch bag from Etsy to tide us over?
